What I like the most about the city of love, the city with 2.25 million inhabitants, the city of the latest fashion, the city of delicious food, the city of beautiful buildings, the city of many diverse cultures, the city of the film, the city of bridges….
I can talk for hours mentioning typical things that make the city of Paris. But I won’t, instead I will introduce you to the hidden pearls of the city. The most attractive spots of Paris which made me love this city so much.
La Tete des Olives
An olive oil shop during the day ( the best of Paris) and an intimate one – table restaurant in the evening. The boutique hosts private dinners for five, which of course begins with an olive oil tasting.
Passage Brady
In the middle of Paris is Passage Brady situated, when you put one step in this little cosy passage, it looks like you ‘ve suddenly arrived in a small town in India. The street is filled with the most colorful but also most expensive Indian restaurants and South Asian cuisines. You can also shop well here if you are looking for authentic accessories and clothing.
Le Refuge des Fondus
Behind the red colored shop in dreamy Montmartre is one of the craziest restaurants of Paris established. It is run by an eccentric, old Parisian and is located in one of the best hidden spaces ever. You should almost climbed on other tables and give your neighbors an elbow to get a table. Once settled you can drink wine from baby bottles and get a delicious cheese fondue and desert for only 25 euros. Remember before you go to write your name down on the wall next to all the other comments and messages from previous visitors from years ago.
Le Fantôme du Métro
A.D.E.M.A.S. is an organization that regularly organizes nightly train rides in a train unit from the ’30s. The train visits historical lines and also closed metro stations in Paris. There are already eleven closed train stations.
Fred Le Chevalier
In the streets of the Marais and the North East of Paris cheerful drawings are diving at various places. These drawings are pasted on doors and walls and are usually in black and white, sometimes with a little color. Maybe you’ve ever seen them, but normally they are pretty well hidden. The creator of the drawings “Fred Le Chevalier”, is a street artist who is very popular in Paris.
Portes Ouverts
Paris is of course also about the wonderful museums and art. And just behind the closed doors the real magic occurs. Secret workshops are everywhere, it’s the matter to find out where they are and how to enter. “Portes Ouverts” is an event that takes place several times a year, each time in a different place, where artists open their doors to the public. The data of 2013 can be announced anytime now, so keep an eye on Google and you have something to look forward to!
Le Dîner en Blanc
A huge dinner entirely in white at a secret location in Paris. Thousands of friends get together and they hear just before the dinner starts where they should gather to enjoy their self brought snacks and drinks. This event is now also organised in the Netherlands but it was originally a Paris festival conceived by some creative entrepreneurs.
